One of my favorite trends is the high-waisted short or trouser. It’s a classic look that anyone can wear, but also has an element that will make heads turn! Whether wearing this style on a date night or out for an ice-cream run with the kids, it’s sure to be a hit! I’ve decided to share some Do’s & Don’ts when pairing tops with high-waisted bottoms.

This top is quickly becoming one of my favorites to wear with high-waisted shorts or trousers. If you are wanting something that REALLY matches there is a similar top and skirt option that is sold as a set. The one I am wearing is sold as a separate. I ordered a size small but may need to size down to an xs, keep in mind I have the chest of a 12 year old boy. (haha)
Here are some Do’s & Don’ts when wearing this look…
Don’t: Wear an oversized top with wide-legged or high-waisted shorts/trousers. You probably would look good in a paper bag, but let’s be honest…who wants to wear a paper bag, right? It’s always important to keep things looking proportionate.
Do: Wear a more fitted top that helps show off your silhouette when wearing a high-waisted style.
Do: Rock the colors you are comfortable in. I love this or this blush/white colored option, but opted for a navy color because I want to wear them to a 4th of July event coming up! 🙂

Don’t Forget: 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Christmas in July is quickly approaching! One of my most favorite sales EVER & probably one of the most highly anticipated sales of the year will be happening July 13th (early access for Nordy card holders) and July 21st it opens to the public! I just received some of the products that will be marked down and WOW! Items do tend to sell out quickly so I would suggest signing up for a Nordstrom card so you can shop online or in the store during early access. 🙂
