I recently went to Hawaii with the hubby.  It is super important for couples with or without kids to take some time and enjoy each other, distraction free.  I prefer a beach setting, but my husband would rather be looking at 10 feet of snow from a cabin on the mountain.  Whatever your preference, it is definitely good to get away and relax together.

I had so many questions on swim suits that I wore, so I decided to talk about some of the fun off the shoulder options this season and how to mix & match suits to get the most bang for your buck.

First, can we please just take a minute to talk about all the amazing hat options available to wear from the pool/beach to dinner?!  The versatility of throwing on a hat with any outfit is seriously saving me about 30 minutes.  It’s a total game changer when you don’t have to style your hair, right gals?

Let’s get moving on where to look AND what to look for when mixing and matching swim suits.  Many of you have probably seen advertisements in magazines or on-line promoting “mix & match.”  I stand on both sides of the fence here, because I love the option to take 3 or 4 pieces and essentially have 8 swim suits to wear.  I also have found swim suits that look way too cute together to ever be separated.  I try to follow these 2 simple rules:

  1. Solid Color + Fun Print (that finds a way to match the solid color) = Fashion WIN

I think it’s fun to find a solid neutral color (here or here) for either the top or bottom, and then add a fun floral or stripe design to the other (here or here).

2.  Matching 2 dominate colors that don’t come as a set  -OR- Matching 2 different BUSY prints that don’t come as a set = Fashion NO

It’s always best to find a solid neutral and then play off of that for the other piece.  I recently found these  green swim bottoms with mesh detailing.  I love them so much I decided to search for a couple swim tops that would accommodate the bottoms.  I found the most comfy green leaf swim top and an off the shoulder floral top that combo’s perfectly with the bottoms I love so much!  I have done this with a lot of my suits this season and will feature more ways to wear and style swim very soon!

Have a great week and as always thanks for reading my blog!

xoxo
